Food Service Developments for the 2010-2011 Academic Year
For the ’10-‘11 academic year, we are pleased to announce that Gourmet Dining will be adding the “Spice Café” to our food court, which will feature Indian and Asian Halal dishes and combos. It will replace the Hersey’s station, and was created to better respond to the needs of our diverse population.
There will be no price increases at any of our Ala Carte stations or for the price of coffee, teas, eggs, bagels and bread.
However, effective July 5th, some adjustments in pricing will occur as we must accommodate the rising cost of operations and facility upgrades. This coming year will see a 4% increase in meal plans and catering, including Ala Carte pricing in our Pub and Food Court areas. As stated above, the 4% increase above does not apply to many of our most popular offerings.

Wednesdays at Washington Park begins today!
Wednesdays at Washington Park kicks off every Wednesday and runs through Oct. 6, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Washington Park at Washington Street and James Street.
Come out and enjoy fresh produce from a local farmer, a variety of food vendors from some of Newark’s finest restaurants, cultural demonstrations, live musical entertainment including jazz, world music, classical, and Latin musical performances, as well as networking opportunities. The event takes place RAIN or SHINE.

Construction Update: Bleeker Street Closing
To accommodate the final structural steel assembly on the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility, Bleeker Street will be closed on Thursday, June 17 and Friday, June 18, 2010.
Lot 7 will be open as usual exiting east to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

NJIT operates on an energy-saving, four-day work week schedule in the summer, Monday through Thursday.
The schedule begins the week of June 7 to 11, with the first affected Friday, June 11, 2010.
The last Friday affected is Friday, August 20, 2010. As we prepare for the fall semester, we return to a normal schedule starting Monday, August 23, 2010.
